حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ, حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورَ, حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ, عَنْ قَتَادَةَ, عَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُمْ َنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ الْجَرْمِيِّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ, عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ, عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ, مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ـ Ounce ُوِيَ لَكَ وَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ جُوعًا فَيُهْلِكَهُمْ بِهِ عَامَّةً وَلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا وَيُذِيقَ بَعْسَ بَعْضrict The َلَيْهِمْ مَنْ يْفُ فِي أُمَّتِي فَلَنْ يُرْفَعَ عَنْهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَإِنَّ مِمَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي أَئِمَّةً مُضِلِّينَ وَسَتَعْبُدُ قَبَائلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي الأَوْثَانَ وَسَتَلْحَقُ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي بِالْمُشْرِيِنَ وَإِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَىِ السَّاعَةِ دَجَّالِينَ قَرِيبًا مِنْ ثَلُّهُمْ يَ زْعُمُ أَنَّهُ نَبِيٌّ وَلَنْ تَزَالَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْحَقِّ مَنْصُورِينَ لَ يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏"‏ .‏ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ لَمَّا فَرَغَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ مَا اَهْوَلَهُ ‏.



On the authority of Sawban, the servant of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him):

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The world was rolled up for me. As a result I could see all its east and west sides. I have been given Haridrava or two mineral treasures of red and white color i.e. gold and silver. I am told that your kingdom will extend as far as the earth was folded for you. Then I begged Allah Almighty for three things: That my Ummah should not be destroyed by a great famine. I appealed to them to divide them into factions and not let one of them taste the armed conflict of the other. I was told, “What I decide is not to change at all. But I will not destroy your Ummah by afflicting them with famine, nor will I gather against them all the opposing powers of the world at once, until they destroy each other and kill each other”. If there is an armed conflict between my ummah, there will be no more truce until the Day of Judgment. I am more afraid of my Ummah than the misguided leaders. Soon some clans or sects of my Ummah will indulge in idolatry and some clans of my Ummah will join the polytheists. Thirty false Dajjals will appear soon near the end of the world. Each of them will claim to be a prophet. A group of my ummah will always be supported and established on the truth, until the final command of Allah Almighty (Qiyaamat). Their opponents cannot harm them. Abu Hasan (R.A.) said, then Abu Abdullah (R.A.) finished narrating this hadith and said, "How terrible is this hadith." [3284]
